[edit] Join the coalition

All you need to do in order to join this dynamic coalition is to subscribe to its moderated mailing list. The bylaws will be commonly worked out prior to the next 2008 IGF Meeting.

[edit] Purpose of the coalition

An IGF Coalition has no political agenda. It only strives to foster a debate wherein every stakeholder can contribute, on a equal basis, to fair global interoperability. It is understood that the fundamental premises of the IDN Community are:

  • the need for free and stable DNS operations, all on an equal footing, which are permitted by consensual open standards that are based on international normalization.
  • the language support lacks and constraints that disrespect the international standards and national laws are actual technical barriers to trade (WTO TBT).
  • the universally accepted regalian/linguistic reference is the ISO 3166 international standard.
